Standards Based Grading
Standards Based Grading
1- Emerging: Student has minimal to no understanding.
2- Progressing: Student is grasping parts of the concept.
3- Meets: Student is meeting grade level expectation.
4- Exemplary: Student can apply and transfer the information they have learned.
This is roughly how standards based grading looks in my class. At this point in the year students are shooting for a 2 or 3. These are what I expect they have nothing to do with the traditional A,B,C,D,F. Please do not expect students to get 4's on everything, they are difficult to earn but are achievable.
Additionally, a 3 in September and a 3 in May will look different based on student growth over the course of the year. What is meeting grade level at the beginning of the year will not look the same at the end.
